Brand Assets

We have tons of brand assets you can use to make sure your customers are aware of your tree planting initiative. You can find all of these assets and more in your Client Portal in the Resources tab.

Tree Content

Use the hundreds of photos available to you in the Tree Content folder, located in the Client Portal under the Resources tab, to show your customers the trees they’re helping you plant. Showing actual pictures of the trees will help customers feel an emotional connection with them, and consequently, your brand.

Email/SMS Flows

We want you to help you effectively message your tree planting initiative to consumers, so we put together a proven strategy list:

Abandoned Cart

Leverage your tree planting as an incentive without discounting your product. When someone abandons cart with you, have emails and SMS talk about the trees and how you plant a tree for every purchase on site to do your part for the environment in the name of your customers. Use of icons work well here.

Post Purchase 1

Send an email post purchase thanking the customer, noting that their order shipment is climate compensated, and that you are getting their tree planted!

Post Purchase 2 (30-45 days after)

Re-engage after a month or so post purchase. This is a light email that notes that their tree is planted, shows actual images of their tree, and talks about the benefits for the Earth. Throw in a cross-sell to get them back onto your site.

Email/SMS Campaigns

FOMO Email

We suggest sending out a monthly email with total tree planting numbers and what that means in terms of carbon reducing efforts. This is a light email showing customers that you care without being too sales-y. Thank the customers that shopped and planted with you last month and include a CTA to shop now and help do their part to those that haven't yet.

Holiday related campaigns - i.e Earth Day, National Wildlife Day

Refer to the holiday calendar in your portal for upcoming holidays, and share with your teams!

Website Optimizations

We want you to help you market your initiative across your site to tell the story and convert customers.

Use your Public Dashboard - You can find it in your Client Portal and use it to share the impact you're making with your customers. It contains information about how many trees you’ve planted, how many workdays you have created, and more!

Call outs in cart and throughout checkout - We have seen this increase conversions on all sites that add this. Just think, if you were shopping and saw this, it would only further incentivize you to complete your purchase!

Landing page on initiative with sustainable language - Create a dedicated page to educate your customers on your tree planting. It makes the customer feel part of this journey and helps build the interaction and experience when shopping with you. You can also include a button like "Place Order" to encourage purchases.

Organic Social

Taking to social media with your new sustainability initiative is crucial to spreading the word and engaging consumers.

Nature Photos - Share photos of your product in trees/nature and use this to tell the story of what you are doing! Utilize the holiday calendar in your portal for dates you should be posting.

Story Highlights - Build out a story highlight that talks about the trees, notable facts that are interesting and engaging, and how shipping is compensated.

Update bio - 1 tree planted per order w/ @ecodrive

Collaborative Posting - Co-post with us on your sustainable posts to boost engagement and following!

Digital Certificate Posts - Create digital certificate assets, optimized for social, with total up to date tree counts, pounds of CO2 removed, and workdays created pulled from your dashboard.

Paid Media Campaigns

Paid media campaigns can ensure that the eco-conscious consumers you've unlocked through tree planting see your brand and are inspired by your initiative. Here are our tips for creating successful paid media campaigns:

Creative: Imagery/video with products or models in nature tends to perform best.

CTA examples:
Shop Sustainable Today

Plant a Tree with Purchase

Every purchase plants a tree

Targeting: Test new targeting around audiences built from other sustainable/social cause brands like Patagonia, Tentree, Toms + audiences focused specifically around sustainability.

PR, Influencers & Blogs

PR - Social Good and Sustainability are huge plays in PR and can open a lot of doors. You can craft a press release that explains your planting initiative and why you're doing it. This is something that has “viral” pickup potential and helps spread your message!

Influencers - Reach out to eco-friendly/sustainable influencers and tell them what you are doing and that you’d love to send them some product. Make the influencer feel good about shopping/incentivizing their following to shop with your brand.

Blogs - Reach out to eco-friendly/sustainable bloggers and tell them what you are doing and let them write about you (they are looking for things to write about) and how you stand out in your space through the initiative. There are a ton of bloggers that would love to hear more about this initiative and why it is on-brand for you!

Integrations and Custom Planting

Did you know you can plant for more than just site orders? You can have integrations for reviews, amazon orders, returns, POS transactions, employees, milestones, events, sign-ups, products, and more!

You can even plant for any customer or employee action without needing an integration. First, inside the Client Portal go to your Dash. Scroll down and you’ll see where you can select custom planting. Then, select the number of trees you want to plant (for any reason you want!) and click Confirm - it’s super easy!

Packaging

Using QR codes on insert cards and hang tags to promote your initiative can increase customer experience and promote engagement.

Insert cards increase customer experience by allowing customers to learn more about the trees when they receive their order from you.

  • Printed on post 100% recycled/recyclable paper

  • 3X5 - can easily fit in any package without being overwhelming

  • For an additional cost: can be printed using carbon sequestering
    black algae ink

Contact trevor@ecodrive.community for more info on insert cards!

Include a callout directly on the product or on hangtags to prompt customers to find out more by going to site - this helps your brand own the retail customer and gather customer data to convert back to your site.
